···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······... blade is a powerful antagonist , which will be reflected in my portrayal without being watered down. i will not sugar-coat or gloss over how malicious he can be. my portrayal of him is heavily headcanon / chinese folklore based and not spoiler free as his lore / backstory is heavily under speculation. please proceed with caution if averse to spoilers. influences include chinese folklore and mythology, the works of wong kar wai, haruki murakami, junji ito and yoko ogawa.i write blade to suffer from chronic pain as a result of his repeated cycles of death under the influence of mara (the curse he bears upon being subjected to immortality), as he can feel and experience the tearing apart and reformation of his own flesh. this is further amplified when the mara strikes and he becomes a more monstrous, bloodthirsty version of himself, as the curse physically strains his body and causes it to mutate. although he states that it haunts him, blade's memories of it are mostly repressed; he relies on kafka's spirit whisper to subdue the mara inside him.blade heavily displays motifs that are tied to the spider lily flower (lycoris radiata), which can be found in his combat abilities and his clothing. the flower is a known symbol of death and the cycle of rebirth throughout asian cultures, as an object that aids spirits through the afterlife on their long journey toward reincarnation.

···appearance :······ blade possesses deep crimson eyes and dark blue hair that fades to red at the tips; as yingxing, his hair was a contrasting pale white. he is on the paler side in complexion, almost sickly-looking in a sense. in build, he can be described as an ectomorph, leanly muscular and wiry. his body is marred with countless scars from his varying deaths over the years and the regeneration of flesh and muscle as a result of them. this is particularly apparent on his back, arms and torso. he has piercings on both lobes and helixes, in addition to his tongue and navel.···attire :······work in progress.

···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······... although halsin as a character belongs to larian, the portrayal of him featured here is my own. my portrayal of him is not spoiler free for baldur's gate 3 so please proceed with caution. depending on who i write him with, i can also easily integrate halsin into general fantasy and crossover settings.i do not subscribe to the whole oversexualisation of halsin and am unlikely to ship him off the bat without considerable amounts of prior plotting; i heavily dislike fanon takes that reduce him down to thirst/sexual traits (there will absolutely be no daddy kink here) as an excuse to blindly ship. please do not push for romantic and/or sexual dynamics or presume that flirting constitutes this.i do have my own gripes in how his trauma was glossed over in addition to the overall writing of his character, among other things and i strive to rectify and shape this accordingly with my own portrayal. i consider my portrayal largely headcanon based and somewhat canon-divergent in the fact that he isn't quite so morally black and white as people may think. therefore, i am open to there being less of a "one or the other" choice re: recruiting halsin or minthara as i read up more about her character and explore further playthroughs.

···appearance :······ halsin stands at a rather imposing seven foot and is of a broad, mesomorphic build, the most notable muscle being in his arms, shoulders, back and thighs. his being particularly larger in build for an elf has been something often pointed out to him ( he supposes he may have some orc ancestry to account for this ).he is tanned from his time spent outdoors and also has a notable amount of body hair. his hair is wavy in texture and kept at roughly shoulder length, a wispy dark brown that appears slightly auburn when it catches the light. for convenience's sake, he tends towards keeping it tied back. his eyes are a pale green colour with an outer ring of brown, though this may differ in certain lighting.strong, thick brows frame his hazel-green eyes and a tattoo marks the right side of his face, spanning down to his collarbone. he dons various scars, both on his face and body, with the most prominent one being a claw mark on the left side of his face.at other times, he is an ever-shifting beast ; this comes with his druidic capacity to wildshape into an amalgam of different forms from elementals to animals, with his favourite form being the cave bear.···scents :······ironically, halsin typically smells of oakwood with undertones of honey and citrus. sweat. the scent of herbs, floral and earthy alike. fresh mint. leather. blood and dirt in the aftermath of battle, or simply through wandering.···tastes :······honeycomb, or mint if not readily available. although jaheira does remark on the foul-smelling breath druids have after wildshaping, halsin has learned to keep mint on his person for such scenarios, just in case.···touch :······warm and comforting, like a homely hearth or the caress of the sun on a summer's day. due to general combat as well as wildshaping, his skin is a little rough and calloused in parts, particularly his hands and feet, but his touch is gentle. his hair is surprisingly soft and he may or may not purr in approval when it's played with.

···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······... although the dark urge as a character belongs to larian, elian as an iteration of the character is my own creation. my portrayal of the dark urge is not spoiler free for baldur's gate 3 so please proceed with caution. depending on who i write him with, i can also easily integrate elian as a recruitable companion towards other player characters. i am presently late into act 3 in elian's playthrough.elian is a highly skilled fighter and caster and an incredibly powerful one at that, being the chosen one of bhaal (his powers are further amplified when he becomes half-illithid) which will be reflected in my portrayal without being watered down. although elian is a resist durge, he still has very highly questionable, cruel tendencies and i will not sugar-coat or gloss over how terrible he can be.with regards to shipping, i will not romantically ship with other characters that already have a ship with a durge character; i will happily indulge in other types of dynamics, however! elian is also ship exclusive with garrett's halsin (@saeliv) and i won't romantically ship him with any other iteration of halsin.

···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······... my portrayal of geralt is primarily headcanon-based and draws influence from the witcher games (primarily the wild hunt), books and (only if you squint) netflix show ; the only things i take from twn are geralt's rivian accent being "british" and the improvised use of chains, flails and other objects as weaponry. i also write him as mixed race and trans which is an important distinguishing point in how my portrayal will differ. as i do not have a faceclaim to reflect this accordingly, i will be keeping threads with geralt iconless. i no longer associate my portrayal of him with the fandom or rpc as a whole.regarding shipping:.. i don’t acknowledge any romantic feelings being shared towards geralt and triss, as the events leading to how the romance developed in the games/books don’t sit right with me, with her taking advantage of his amnesia. this is something i interpret as a one-sided romance on her end. he sees her more as a friend and valuable ally. as a general note, i also won't be shipping him with anyone physically younger than in their mid-twenties.thematic inspiration includes:..existentialism, fate / destiny, belonging, morality + more .

···modern / dc / marvel :······geralt is a mechanic and is a leather-clad biker turned vigilante on the hunt for his adopted daughter, ciri, who has been missing for a number of years. having been experimented on in his childhood, he retains the characteristic witcher traits of his cat-eyed appearance and white hair, as well as his physical and alchemical abilities that aid him in his vigilantism.···genshin impact :······geralt is in his early thirties (visual ref) and a cryo claymore user. he was “created” in khaenri'ah similar to how albedo (and his counterpart) were as one of rhine’s creations, formerly allied with dainsleif as one of the royals’ former knights / bounty hunters for hire. following the nation’s destruction, he is stationed in mondstadt as a double agent of sorts. the citizens “find” geralt around wolvendom where he fakes having lost his memory in order to integrate into teyvat society as an ordinary person. there have been attempts to recruit him into the knights of favonius or part of the adventurers guild but he refuses, save for taking on a bounty here and there for money just to get by, as his loyalty stands with his (now presumed dead) guild back in khaenri'ah.

❝··MIGUEL O'HARA (SPIDER-MAN 2099)

···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······... first things first, i portray miguel as a trans man. i am transmasc myself and i do not tolerate any negativity or bigotry (in character or otherwise) towards this. miguel belongs to marvel obviously but the portrayal of him on this blog remains my own.i have seen atsv and read through the original 1992 run of miguel's comics, as well as the further 2014 and 2015 volumes. i will try to keep up to date as more comics are released. my portrayal is vastly canon-divergent with influences from an amalgamation of all of these in addition to my own headcanons and verse/timeline-flexible. i also do not tone down the more brutal sides of miguel's character. he is an antihero in many senses.RE: CANON DIVERGENCES: my portrayal of miguel will disregard anything to do with comics-canon infidelity and for the most part, dana d'angelo as a character as i feel like she exists as less of a character and more as a plot device and byproduct of male-centric, misogynistic writing to drive a rift between the o'hara brothers. in my portrayal, these actions do not align with miguel's character and the relationship between him and gabriel was not severed or damaged for such reasons. for the purposes of my own portrayal, xina kwan is miguel's only ex-lover and the breakup was not spurred by cheating but rather natural distance between the two of them.in threads, miguel may reference gabriel in a manner that affirms that they are in fact on good terms. i do personally headcanon gabe to also be a trans man, with this shared connection contributing to further deepening their brotherly bond, although i will not impose this on anyone who writes gabriel.in terms of atsv influences, the primary aspects i take from involve miguel's design / appearance, voice and some of his abilities, such as his capacity to traverse universes more "freely". i typically do not base interactions in the spiderverse movies as the manner in which he is portrayed there doesn't entirely align with my own headcanons, nor does it allow for much leeway in terms of scope of interactions.

···appearance :······standing at over two metres tall, miguel is of mesomorphic build with a well-honed muscular physique. his tanned skin is laden with various scars collected over the years, the most notable being the double-incision scars from his top surgery, although these have faded over the years. miguel has also undergone bottom surgery / phalloplasty as part of his transition process.his hair is dark brown, almost black and naturally holds a slight wave. he typically has it styled in a lightly tousled, brushed back style with some strands falling over his forehead. re: facial hair, miguel doesn’t really allow it to grow out any more than a short beard / light stubble (if he is seen with it any longer than this, it’s a bit of a giveaway that he’s been distracted or otherwise preoccupied with something). regarding body hair, he has a fair amount on his arms, legs and chest in addition to his stomach, which typically has a happy trail of some sort.though miguel's eyes are naturally brown, they visibly change colour to a vibrant red when he’s in “spider mode”. when outdoors, he typically wears sunglasses during the day due to his eyes being especially photosensitive as a result of his powers and enhanced vision. prolonged exposure of his eyes to bright lights gives him migraine-like headaches and make his eyes sting.his claws aren’t actually an extension of his fingernails, but instead protrude and retract from the pads of his fingertips in a similar fashion to cat claws. thankfully for him, they automatically retract when in contact with his skin. his elongated fangs don't retract and can secrete venom to temporarily paralyse those he bites.miguel has both of his ears pierced at the lobes and typically wears simple silver hoop earrings or studs.···attire :······work in progress.

···weaponry :······ although he’s more commonly armed with magically-enhanced guns as a choice weapon and finds them overall more practical to use, kain is most proficient in handling knives, swords and different types of blades in general, even dual wielding them effectively if the situation calls for it ( or if he just wants to show off ). he’s also fond of cooking and will, if given the opportunity, showcase advanced knife skills in the kitchen too. never watch masterchef or any kind of cooking/baking show with him, he’ll commentate on everything.···core motivations :······ kain’s need to solve cases and maintain a near-perfect success rate stems from an obsession / addiction to doing so, to the point where he is unhealthily engrossed in the work he does and lashes out at himself and others when he is unsuccessful in wrapping up a case ; he harbours a lot of pent-up anger and rage towards his father, a demon with an unknown identity, for abusing and afterwards killing his human mother, and sees bounty hunting as his way of “doing the world a favour” and ridding it of corrupt supernatural beings.his morals tend to waver ( i.e: is he just as bad as them in the fact that he kills and does immoral deeds to achieve his goals / seek his own ideas of “redemption” at whatever cost that may be to himself or others to the point that he’s not actually going anywhere ? ) and his motives fluctuate with each case he takes on. he struggles a lot with empathy in that regard, although he will never intentionally harm a fully-human being.that being said, he has a complex love-hate for his own demonic nature, deeming it as both a curse and a blessing— on one hand, he sees them as a convenience, to identify and prepare according to what beings he’s dealing with per case, or for if he needs to dispose of supernatural creatures or torture information out of them if need be ( in particular with regards to blood manipulation / pain manipulation ) and may even toy with his targets out of a rather twisted enjoyment. on the other hand, he hates the association that he has with other demonic beings, such as his own father, and exhibits self-destructive behaviour because he generally lacks regard for his own wellbeing, or for the wellbeing of others.kain does not fear death. in fact, he enjoys challenging fights and gets a sort of adrenaline rush from them. even when facing opponents larger and stronger than him, he will continue to provoke and get a reaction from them, be it by means of taunting them with insults, flirting with them, saying something lewd or otherwise speaking his thoughts aloud for shock factor. it’s a tactic of sorts: exhaust and catch the other party off-guard and then look for an opening to strike and tap at their weaknesses using his powers or gather important information in the process. that being said, he’s wise enough to know when he’s outmatched and will retreat and regroup when required, then analyse his opponent’s weaknesses and return with additional resources such as weapons, or backup from yoon, if necessary.

···attire :······his day to day attire consists largely of button-ups with the sleeves rolled for a smart casual look, sometimes layered with a suit jacket or blazer and fitted trousers. when operating as a vigilante, he dons all-black techwear for ease of movement and anonymity, which he enhances with various gadget-like technological adjustments and fittings. these include night vision goggles, added grips on the soles of his shoes, inbuilt bulletproof and weatherproof layers and grappling hooks.

···trickster lore / background :······ hyunwoo possesses trickster ancestry as a result of a curse that was inflicted on the paternal side of his family. ultimately, the curse results in the afflicted person destroying those they love the most and themselves in the process ; over time, they decline both physically and mentally while succumbing to the chaos within them.though the curse itself is a ticking timebomb, over the years, hyunwoo has trained himself to be able to repress it to a certain degree, moreso than that of his family members, by physically restraining himself or via meditation. he sees the chaos as part of him that he must simply accept and embrace, even if it destroys him ; why repress it when he can inflict disorder on those who use their money and influence for corrupt, unjust things?···past and relationship with his father :······hyunwoo is a former medical student who studied abroad in hong kong for a few years, initially hoping to follow in the footsteps of his consultant father. during his time studying, his father's condition deteriorated rapidly as he spiralled into an obsession with finding a medicinal cure and signing himself up as a lab rat to money-hungry scientists, leading to his own demise when the drugs eventually killed him.···his identity as veles :······hyunwoo assumed the identity of veles after taking up painting as an outlet to express the visions he witnesses, in particular on sleepless nights — soon leading to a rise in popularity and demand for veles' works as viewers and art critics fell in love with his dark, otherworldly style. only later does it become apparent that these paintings and thinkpieces depict crimes and murders that are to occur in the near future. although he wouldn't outwardly admit it, some of the profits he obtains are donated to cat shelters, as he has a fondness towards them.···overall outlook and moral views :······hyunwoo abides by the mantra of "keeping your friends close and your enemies closer" as a means of while masquerading as a wealthy businessman through his stockbroking occupation, taking on corrupt clients and ultimately orchestrating their financial downfall. he refuses to end up like his father, so blindly obsessed with becoming "normal" that he failed to evade his own death.it intrigues him just how far people will go for certain things, be it money, fame or other people. hyunwoo sees it as a game or experiment of sorts in his own persuit of knowledge... and to see just how much humanity remains in him. so he'll observe, create his own little challenges and throw curveballs to test out these theories, before moving onto the next when he gets bored.

···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······...taejun is an original character who has been in development and undergone multiple revisions since 2015. his character and background loosely draw inspiration from various cyberpunk media, mythological lore and biblical lore. he is very heavily integrated into my own original canon a chemical ascension, of which james is the protagonist and antihero. additional lore information may be found on his blog.taejun’s character is heavily rooted in the theme of prophecy , with him serving as the almost “guardian” / forefront protective figure and fulfilling the metaphoric role of the prophet / visionary in the events of a chemical ascension.REGARDING TRIGGERS BEFORE PROCEEDING:...the core concepts of the a chemical ascension canon, and in conjunction taejun as a character, include topics that are heavy and may be highly triggering to most. these include but are not limited to physical and mental abuse, legal and illegal drug use, murder, weaponry, religious cults and blasphemy. such themes are also apparent in taejun's backstory.

···superhuman condition :······the ability to maintain a peak physical and mental condition without going by any supernatural means to do so. this entails the user to be faster, stronger, more intelligent, more resilient and overall superior to other humans.···weapons proficiency :······the ability to utilise any weapon with expert proficiency upon first time use, without any prior training. taejun’s weapons of choice typically include an array of guns and mechanical weaponry. this ability links in with enhanced condition.···live / adaptive translation :······the ability of adaptive translation serves as a RECIPROCAL ( NON-PHYSICAL ) AUTOMATIC LIVE TRANSLATION “DEVICE” through which those engaged in conversation with taejun will be able to understand him regardless of any prior knowledge in korean ( or essentially whichever language he may be communicating in ; korean is simply his native tongue and thus, is the language he is most inclined to / comfortable in using ) and vice versa : he’d be able to understand what is being said to him regardless of his own prior knowledge ( or lack thereof ) in the language being spoken to him.this ability is different to that of omnilingualism, which entails innate or “instant” fluency in all languages, and should not be confused with it. please click and read this post for full details.···regenerative healing factor :······the ability to heal at a particularly fast rate, though the time and energy required for this would depend on the severity of the injury. the user may survive severe blood loss, though large proportions of limbs and internal organs may not be regrown after extensive damage. taejun may even have to remain catatonic for hours, if not days in order to replenish his strength in the case of a particularly severe injury.

overview

taejun serves as james’ right-hand man and the first of the “restored”. initially a former mercenary soldier, jumping between a multitude of part-time jobs, taejun had suffered with a gap in his memory, with no recollection of events from when he was between the ages of nine to twenty (1999-2010). this memory loss was the result of being held captive as a human experiment; he was one of the first to have the initial cypher serum prototype tested on him, soon being deemed a “failed subject” and having his memory wiped after showing no notable development of superhuman abilities, despite his physical prowess as a human.after meeting james and having most of his memories gradually restored by him, taejun soon swore allegiance to him upon learning the truth behind how the cypher project had decimated his past and led to the loss of his family.

background

taejun ( while still going by his birth name, han jaehwan ) was taken in by the corporation, genesis, as a test subject for the cypher serum prototypes ( which, if successful, would transition a human into a mutant ) when he was in his teens and experimented on. this was something he volunteered to do, as otherwise they’d have taken his younger sister, soyeon, instead. taejun’s dad, han junho, was employed by one of the government officials ( who was one of the main funders of the cypher project and a member of genesis ) and junho was basically forced and coerced by higher-ups to offer up one of his children as an experiment.taejun was subject to physical and mental torture, being beaten up in the facility as part of the rigorous training to see if the test subjects like taejun would develop any abilities. although he did get stronger physically, he didn’t develop any of the “typical” expected traits of a mutant after so many years of being there, so they set him free eventually as he was of no use to them anymore.however, as they’d still yet to find a person who the serum actually worked on ( note: that’s where james is introduced, as “officially” the first successful mutant after they’d tweaked the serum ) genesis became even more rigorous and desperate in looking for subjects to test on. they later went back for taejun’s sister, soyeon ; of course taejun’s parents wouldn’t stand for it any more, as they’d already taken taejun in and permanently scarred and traumatised him. after they didn’t cooperate for the second time, they were killed by genesis for their lack of cooperation. taejun and soyeon were both badly injured whilst trying to protect their parents ( this is how taejun gained the worst scar on his back, since he was struck hard there ), and their memories wiped to cover up the incident. soyeon later died of her injuries as she’d lost too much blood and genesis deemed her no longer fit enough to participate as a subject even if she’d have recovered from her injuries. this was how taejun lost his past memories and later was recruited by james to join nix corp.

···appearance :······ jianyong's body is lithe and toned, palms and hands calloused from their many years' combat experience and tanned skin marred with various battle scars, though none of particular significance. at the centres of his eyes is a clear jade green with an outer ring of black. his hair is a greyish silver that fades into base layers of jet black and typically kept at shoulder-length with the longer strands tied back on occasion [ hair ref ; though the colour is more silver-grey than white ].as someone tethered to a dragon deity, he bears their dragon-shaped markings in the form of a tattoo on the right side of his body, starting at the base of his jaw and sweeping over his chest, shoulder and upper arm. his ears are pierced at the lobes and helixes.post-awakening: his post-war injuries significantly damaged his body, requiring a synthetic magic-infused core embedded into his chest, reconstruction of his jaw and the left side of his ribs, as well as cybernetic prostheses on his left arm and his right leg from the knee downwards.···attire :······as per tianzhai traditions and norms, they will typically don traditional dress, or hanfu in the colours of red, gold or white as day-to-day attire. this is further accompanied by pieces of battle armour such as chestplates and armguards for combat purposes. modern attire tba.

background

on an autumn evening many centuries ago, a baby boy was born in a small village on the outskirts of tianzhai — the son of a seamstress and tianzhai's most renowned rebel leader, having operated since the appointment of their most recent emperor, the tyrannical emperor wan. sadly, he held no tangible memory of his mother, for she passed away following childbirth and news of the boy's birth quickly spread, with a mass hunt out for both the infant and his revolutionist father, hong jin spanning the weeks after his birth.this hunt eventually led to the royal army having cornered hong jin into an abandoned store believed to have been his residence at the time, where he lived with his son, who he'd named jianyong. as a last stand, the man had detonated a series of explosives, taking his own life along with that of most of the soldiers' as well as destroying the building itself entirely, which contained what was presumably the last of numerous documents detailing the rebels' plans. the damage to the building and its contents was so severe that it could only be assumed the man perished in the wreckage. unbeknownst to them, the baby had survived and the documents were relocated and distributed among the revolutionists, thanks to a plan concocted by hong jin prior to his demise.a couple consisting of a blacksmith and a scholar took the now-orphaned infant in, raising him as their own as promised to his father upon his death ; both of them, as former captives of the state, were indebted to him for their freedom, the rebellion having taken them in after sparing their lives. the boy took on the couple's surname, li and remained in their care. they raised him as if he were their very own until he was required to leave home for secondary schooling at the age of fourteen. during these years, they would still keep in contact frequently and report back to each other whenever developments occurred within the academy or within the village or the central city itself.he was sixteen years old when he first encountered the dragon deity yinlong. he'd heard of tethering and the higher deities many times, as any tianzhou resident had, but never did he think he'd interact with them directly, let alone become tethered to one.because of his notable height, the boy was often mistaken as a senior even among his peers. sometimes, this worked to his favour — his stature could serve as an intimidation tactic to knock bullies down a peg — which is how he found himself in a courtyard scrap with a couple of thugs assaulting a classmate. one of them had managed to land a blow to the side of his face with a force that'd surely bruise, before grappling with a dagger to slash at him once again but at the last second, jianyong had ducked and barreled into his opponent like a whirlwind, shoulder slamming into his stomach to tackle him to the ground... only to fall onto the gravel himself, clutching at air. it was then that he'd realised that they weren't ordinary thugs but powerful magic casters, illusionists easily capable of disarming a novice like himself. no matter how hard he rolled and darted around to dodge and deflect their attacks, the onslaught never ceased and his stamina wore thin. jianyong knew that he'd bitten off more than he could chew at this point, a haggard, bloodied mess, face barely recognisable. he cursed his impulse, his urge to step in and play the hero — like his father before him, it'd only lead to his demise.except his demise did not come. it began as a searing, scorching pain, as if his insides were lit on fire, flowing outward across his limbs to the tips of his fingers and toes — then an incomprehensible surge of magic. black tendrils crackled like thunder, encasing his being and plunging the surroundings into impenetrable darkness. when the shadows dispersed, jianyong came face to face with a harrowing reality — not only did he kill his opponents, as evidenced by the indistinguishable, tar-like remains on the ground, but he'd been tethered to a deity, the shadow dragon known as yinlong. "illusions cannot inflict harm where they can't be seen." were the dragon's first words to his now-companion.by the time he'd trained enough to fully hone his newfound abilities in combat, jianyong found himself among the ranks of the dragon knights of the royal army, becoming one of their most talented recruits. at the age of twenty, two years after being drafted, he took on the courtesy name zhi yu. after finally learning the truth behind his past from his adoptive parents — the deep-seated corruption that ran beneath the present emperor's rule and the foundations laid by his father as a revolutionist — zhi yu then vowed to continue his work, to change and challenge the deceitful ways of the court from within.as zhi yu's efforts spanned over years, amassing more and more support for the resistance among trusted comrades, his foster parents operated on the outside beyond palace borders to strengthen their networks, gather recruits for their cause and bolster their resources. Inevitably, it was only a matter of time until a full-scale war broke out as tianzhai's palace continued to launch its attacks on smaller nations in attempts to occupy their land — many of these attempts were successful and the once-peaceful population became torn, with many being brainwashed by military propaganda as the number of casulties rapidly increased.as a collaboration with emissaries and those displaced from the neighbouring nations, a large-scale coup was arranged as the war began to reach its peak in terms of magnitude. it was a gamble on an insurmountable scale, even if they'd exhausted as many possibilities as they could think of, there was only so much planning and strategising would aid their efforts. all it took was a single, unaccounted-for variable. so when traitors had infiltrated their ranks, zhi yu's felt as though he'd failed, as one of the main strategists — fool, he was a damned fool — his heart plummeted as he bolted his way through the forested land, where the crux of their ambush was to take place. now they were the ones being ambushed, their location exposed and now the prime target of the emperor's army. blasts sounded around him, deafening but not enough to drown out the horrified cries of those whose lives would be cruelly claimed by these attacks. before he could even stop to mourn those he'd lost or retreat, a flurry of bombs were being hurled towards him, effectively surrounding him. he remembers screaming hoarsely for them to run, ordering yinlong to use the last of their power to aid the other troupes of knights, to buy them time to escape. and then everything, zhi yu included, shattered and burned, obliterated in an avalanche of smoke, dirt and flame.perhaps it was a bitter irony that his exit from this realm was to mirror that of his father's — only this was far from planned, a catastrophe that would be documented as the razing of tianzhai forest. the revolutionists fortunate enough to escape with their lives, particularly those among the dragon knights, preserved what they could of him to honour his memory. with the joint effort of their and dragons' tethered powers combined, this group of survivors encased his damaged body in a mystical amber vessel, where he lay comatose for centuries.fast forward to terra, modern day. as zhi yu awakens, he finds himself in an unfamiliar laboratory, a magic-infused core in his heart and parts of his limbs replaced with prosthetics. he supposes yinlong favoured him enough to grant him another chance, once again. it takes him a while to adjust to his new body, to come to terms with it, but he believes that everything occurred for a reason. along with his mentor, "the scientist", he spends his days trying to piece together history, to learn what became of tianzhai and its residents, and do what he can to contribute to a fairer world.

lore and terminology

···(soul) tethering :······the process in which a deity's spirit chains itself to that of a mortal's, reserved for when said deity's approval and trust is earned. the mortal's life essence becomes one with the deity's in a symbiotic manner and subsequently allows them to channel the deity's powers; the degree of power depends on the deity. only higher deities that originate from one of the four quadrants are capable of performing soul tethering.···quadrant :······the categorisation of deities among the "higher four", with each corresponding to an auspicious beast and set compass direction ; these include the dragon of the east, the phoenix / firebird of the south, the tiger of the west and the tortoise of the north. zhi yu, having been tethered to the dragon deity yinlong, is thus part of the dragon quadrant. these creatures and those tethered to them may, under exceptional circumstances, traverse to other realms.···tianzhai / realm 88 :······lit. "sky fortress" / 天寨 ; a vast nation within the fantasy realm from which zhi yu originated. consider it an alternate fantasy reality of ancient china where deific spirits and magic is the norm, located in another dimension. the land is vastly comprised of temples and markets within city borders (the capital being tianzhai city), surrounded by lush greenery and mountainous terrain.···terra :······planet earth ; present / modern day with heavy technological advancements and cyberpunk influences. zhi yu has been situated in terra decades prior to and after his awakening.···tianzhai's education system :······from the age of 5, tianzhai-born children are educated in reading and writing / traditional calligraphy ; this increases in complexity with age. from the age of 10, this continues with the addition of basic self-defence and hand-to-hand combat, without the use of weaponry or magic, save for basic healing / defensive magic. weapons and magic are only introduced as part of this training from the age of 14 onwards, with the expected development of these students' skills sufficient enough to undertake their final exams at age 18. these exams consist of multiple intense rounds of combat (hand-to-hand, various weapons and magic usage), an agility course, stealth and infiltration, in addition to writing, reading and military strategy. students may also choose to add an extra subject to be tested on, for example art or music ; this greatly increases their chances of success in being blessed by the deities.···"the scientist / professor" :······also referred to as shi fu by zhi yu. a surgeon and mysterious professor in cybertechnology, known synonymously as the best in his field. the scientist was the one who operated on the comatose zhi yu to restore as much of his physical body as possible, using cybernetic prosthetics where required. very rarely unmasked, he conducts his work in anonymity, with zhi yu being one of very few who know his true identity and name.

···hobbies and interests :······during their time on earth, void has picked up a number of "human" hobbies. these include photography, admiring artwork, reading poetry and literature, botany, calligraphy (which they'd always been skilled in) and a penchant for observing architecture, in particular liminal spaces, abandoned buildings.···existence :······they are an ageless being, something in between deity and entity. a gatekeeper that exists somewhere between life and death, serving as a guide towards afterlife. they shift in demeanour / appearance / form according to their surroundings ( i.e: earth itself or in spiritual plains ) and the souls of those around them. they can judge the fate of those in limbo : a peaceful existence post-death, or one in perpetual torment. they snack on souls and will sometimes very literally devour bodies. it is against their celestial duty to directly intervene or interfere with a death that has been ordained and predetermined.

···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······... your muse will not know of wooshin's demonic nature or of his abilities unless specifically told or plotted otherwise. this may be different if your muse is also of a supernatural nature. all of my ocs share overlapping demon / angel lore so this applies to wooshin too !wooshin is partially an affiliated oc linked in with my own original canon a chemical ascension with his being kain's half-sibling but also serves as an independent muse who happens to coexist in that plot / timeline.

···appearance :······wooshin typically keeps his hair in its natural black colour and in a messy, shaggy wolf cut / mullet that stops at his nape. his eyes are a cloudy, silvery blue-grey colour at the irises ; the colour becomes more vivid, his pupils lengthen into cat-like slits and his sclera darken when he sheds his "mortal" appearance. his frame is sturdy and muscular with broad shoulders and marred with a myriad of scars, many of which are covered by cybersigilism tattoos that curve around his arms, legs and back. he also has sharpened teeth, with canines that appear fang-like, though this is less prominent when he is maintaining a "human" guise.

···hobbies and interests :······ fashion, video games, food (especially spicy food), exercising,···gaming habits :······ wooshin is a huge nerd / gamer ( he collects a myriad of pokemon and yugioh cards and video game figures ) and would really just lounge around and game all day if he could. his favourite types of video games are rpgs, rhythm games and horror ( despite him being easily startled / jumpscared ). the only reason he’s buff / works out is because he got addicted to a (fictional) video game that progresses you the more you exercise and has a gacha system incorporated into it. he streams bi-weekly under his vtuber persona "eros" with his avatar appearing as a red haired demon boy with visible horns, wings and claws.···inability to die :······wooshin cannot die… or rather he just resurrects and respawns essentially. he gets knocked out for a few hours and then is groggy as if he has a hangover until it wears off… he’ll complain about the pain as (although lessened) he still feels the aftereffects of whatever happened to kill him but overall treats it as an annoyance. he has to be dramatic about it though.he’s a hybrid demon ( elemental, specifically darkness + desire-driven ) with his father being a powerful, ruthless demon king of darkness. his mother was an unnamed succubus consort, one of many that his father had ; however, .

···PORTRAYAL NOTES :······... ambrose as a character is largely satirical ( he is meant to be presented as a walking cluster of privileged traits and tropes on the surface ; a classically handsome, rich and powerful white male ) and interactions will occasionally take place in a somewhat experimental first-person pov , which is a first for me. heavy parts of their character are triggering ; they are not a good person. refer to the points below. inspiration is derived from various sources of media such as you , castlevania, junji ito, biblical and classic horror, howl's moving castle and other sources but ambrose as a character remains my own.REGARDING TRIGGERS BEFORE PROCEEDING:...the core concepts of ambrose's character include topics that are heavy and may be highly triggering to most. these include but are not limited to transphobia and various other themes of bigotry, gore, murder, cannibalism, substance abuse, blasphemy and stalking. i must reiterate that none of these things are to be glorified or romanticised. ambrose is not a pleasant individual. for such reasons i will be immensely selective in who i choose to write them with.

···appearance :······descriptors are based on their present form, as of 2010. there is an almost statuesque quality about his features, from his angular jaw and high cheekbones to his piercing blue eyes ; his eyes appear a vibrant gold at times in which he is utilising his powers. his chestnut brown hair naturally holds a slight wave and is styled in a loose, casually brushed back style with some of his bangs falling over his forehead. he typically dons facial hair that ranges from light stubble to a short beard, cut frequently for ease of maintenance. his skin is clean, almost too clean and neat. a blank canvas without tattoos or piercings or otherwise distinguishable marks save for faint scars, barely visible unless under close scrutiny. as someone who takes good care of appearance, their physique is amply muscular and sturdy, similar to that of an athlete's build. these are the features that continue to allow him to decieve and dance his way around society, holding those around him in the palm of his hand.

background

although they do not regret the circumstances that led them to their present position, ambrose maintains that their death was unjust. they were raised as the youngest daughter in a somewhat normal family of mages, with good education and a strong affinity for magic from childhood.this did not bode well when they became a teenager and were old enough to to be sent to their local academy for mages; here, they were the envy of various students who would actively ambush and otherwise sabotage their work and research. this was bearable with a small circle of close friends. however the bullying only became more apparent after it was made known that they were nonbinary, leading to varying forms of both verbal and physical abuse.this betrayal within the academy eventually led to them snapping and setting their entire dormitory block alight with dark fire magic, scorching all those inside. using this as a distraction, they bound and murdered the principal with their bare hands for his inaction towards the abuse they received, leaving his dismembered body in the courtyard fountain as a statement.subsequently, they were cast out of the academy and chained in a jail cell while the court of mages declared their deeds punishable by death. ironically, they were tied to the stake and burned alive... or so they thought.having encased themselves in a magical barrier with their dying breaths, their remains were found and they were later revived into a vampire by one emrys dean, a sadistic vampire alchemist who saw them as a fun new experiment to toy with, as his "assistant". sired to him by blood, ambrose had no choice but to comply while secretly searching for a way to subdue emrys and kill him by exploiting his weaknesses, thus allowing them to be free of his grasp.after brutally murdering the true emrys dean two centuries after his turning, he tore his heart out of his chest and consumed it, inheriting his appearance, knowledge and power. this is his "default" form which he wears while interchangeably using the aliases ambrose flynn and emrys dean ; he enjoys this as he is able to utilise privileges that were otherwise previously unheard of for the likes of him.he has practiced the same method of murdering both vampires and other creatures alike and inheriting their form / power / knowledge, so long as he has their heart nearby as a source by which to siphon dark magic to and from as he shifts between one host body and another. he very literally has a collection of preserved, magically beating hearts in jars in a hidden basement lab.in order to absorb knowledge from other beings, he can obtain it through consuming their blood or flesh, or through forcing it out of them by mental manipulation.
